One More Time with FeelingAndrew Dominik
What was to be an ordinary 'making of' documentary about Nick Cave's new album Skeleton Tree, became an intense portrait of a suffering artist, after the unexpected death of his son. Uniquely combining the creative process and his personal tragedy, One More Time with Feeling offers you the chance to get dragged into the world of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds.
Evil and darkness were always present in Nick Cave's work. But fate hit him hard in the face and cut right through his heart, wrapping his life in blackness, when his son Arthur died in 2015, by falling off a cliff in Brighton. The immense sense of loss runs through the veins of the album Skeleton Tree and hangs over al the rehearsals, live recordings and Cave's daily life, like an intense threatening but serene thunder cloud.
Director Andrew Dominik did not create an ordinary music documentary, but composed an intimate document in which we follow the creative process of the troubled Bard. The songs on the record Skeleton Tree, the thoughts in Cave's voice-over and the beautiful photography of the Belgian cinematographer Benoit Debie form a melancholic and artistic whole that reaches right into your soul.
