When the balance sheet is drawn about how our world is doing, we are usually faced with ominous forecasts and disaster scenarios. Threats that should prompt us to change. But what if we do not show problems, but solutions instead?

When actress Mélanie Laurent read in a famous study in Nature that humanity and the world as we know it would end by 2100 she was shocked. It was another discouraging testimony of the ecological catastrophe that mankind has brought on itself. She was fed up with the negative news and decided to turn it around, together with director Cyril Dion. They are convinced that showing solutions and an optimistic story is the best way to make progress.

With a camera on their shoulder and a microphone in their hand, they travel the world and meet pioneers of change. Spread across 10 countries and three continents, they meet people who believe that there is an alternative and who put their money where their mouth is. They are not only concerned with ecological problems, but also look at how passionate people are reinventing agriculture, energy, the economy, democracy and education. By bringing together these positive and substantial initiatives, they discover what the world of tomorrow could look like. The result is a refreshing look at familiar problems. We are not encouraged to change anything when we hear threats, but we do respond to an invitation that makes us want to join in.
