Arno: Dancing inside my HeadPascal Poissonnier

Arno Hintjens needs little introduction. The enigmatic rock legend is still intact and still attracts full concert halls after his musical career of 40 years. Director from the city of Ghent, Pascal Poissonnier, managed to follow the singer for two years to look into the dancing, transverse and compulsive head of Arno.

The rocker – now retired – is after decades on stage still one of the most original artists of Belgium. He is not known as the most convenient person, which makes it all the more surprising that director Pascal Poissonier got permission to follow the musician for two years. The camera goes into the recording studio and on tour throughout Europe, the US and Japan.

Pascal Poissonnier is not only a filmmaker but he teaches film at the School of Arts (Ghent) and the Lemmens Institute (Leuven). He was previously on DOCVILLE with Walking Back to Happiness in 2010, and now returns with a fascinating and pure portrait of a Belgian legend. On stage we see Arno as a young and wild colt, but off-stage we may see him as an old man, with 35 albums to his name and just as many broken relationships. Poissonier brings a sincere portrait of the man and the artist, indistinguishable in the case of Arno.
