SELECTED FOR DOCVILLE 2025 (archive)
Testerep was a peninsula of the Belgian coast near Ostend, up until the Middle Ages, when it was engulfed by the sea. On the basis of the disappeared peninsula, this documentary wants to explore how we, as people, view and study the world. The research project Testerep combines an impressive amount of different types of datasets and analyses, from our own eyes and hands (excavations), to technological extensions for our senses (LIDAR, soundwaves and magnetic waves, etc.). This way, the film creates a link between humans and technology, past and future.
