Since the pandemic, elderly prisoners in need of care have been housed in a separate wing of Merksplas prison. Hidden away behind high walls, this forgotten population has very specific needs that a prison cannot adequately meet. Director Stijn Geenen—who previously worked as a researcher on films such as Rebel by Adil & Bilall and numerous TV programs—investigates this forgotten group and the caregivers who try to alleviate the worst needs with far too limited resources.
