Dennis Tyfus has been an established name in the Antwerp art scene since the late 90's. As a visual artist, musician, radio maker, publisher and organizer he usually works outside of the institutional art circuit. Improvisation and freedom are the common thread in just about everything he does, that includes when he's getting ready for an exhibition in Rome.

In January 2025, the first shipment of blank canvases is delivered to Dennis's home. For the first time, he paints with oil paint. The goal? An exhibition in Rome at the end of that year. It seems like a risk, but for Dennis himself, it brings the freshness and recklessness he needs.
The common thread in his oeuvre is the continuous search for freedom and for a way to question what is fixed. His work makes people laugh, shakes them up, encourages reflection, and connects. It is an invitation to embrace everything that is strange and to break out of the fixed frameworks of our society.
