Bombay BeachAlma Har'el

The death of the American Dream has an address: the barren plains of Salton Sea, California. This sea in the middle of the Colorado desert was once a high end holiday destination, but has been reduced to a puddle of dead fish. The local population is made up of outcasts. Alma Har’el, a filmmaker from Israel, paints her very own portrait of three locals: a bipolar teenager with a very vivid imagination, a black football player who fled the violent streets of LA and a retired oil worker who lives on a diet of whiskey, cigarettes and his love for life. Music by Beirut and Bob Dylan.
