Afghan Jawed and Dashurije from Kosovo both left their native countries in search of a better life. They met at ‘Klein Kasteeltje’ in Brussels and have since been leaning on each other, during their long struggle to obtain a residence permit. Their battle for survival takes an unexpected turn when Dashurije discovers she is pregnant. Following a hunger strike, Jawed is allowed to stay in Belgium for six months. But his euphoria soon cools when the hospital bill arrives. It is starting to seem as though life as an illegal immigrant is even tougher than the life they left behind.
