Finders KeepersBryan Carberry, Clay Tweel

Two men fighting over an amputated leg. This absurd but true story led to the both hilarious and poignant documentary "Finders Keepers", a worldwide hit at international film festivals.

The story seems too absurd for any scriptwriter to present to the world. When the enterprising Shannon Whisnant finds a mummified human bone in a second hand barbecue, he believes he has won the jackpot: this could very well be his golden ticket to fame and fortune. He demands an entrance fee from anyone who wants to see the leg. Local media pick up the crazy story, giving Shannon his coveted 15 minutes of fame.

Thanks to the press, the story also reaches John Wood. It's his leg that was amputated after an accident and ended up in the barbecue, following a bizarre chain of circumstances. The two men get into an acrimonious battle over who is the rightful owner of the leg. Their bizarre feud makes the media love this story even more. Both men become even bigger celebrities and their personal lives are turned inside out.

Directors Carberry and Tweel tell this absurd story in a brilliant way. What started as a hilarious freak show with a baffling craving for tv glory takes an unexpected turn and becomes a poignant, heartwarming story about human tragedy and redemption.
