Urban Makeover
In the language of the Hopi tribe, Koyaanisqatsi means living an unbalanced and restless life. This visual essay focuses on the tension between nature and industrialization, urbanization and science. Director Reggio intensively uses time-lapse photography and slow motion. Koyaanisqatsi is considered one of the most influential documentaries ever made. Philip Glass composed its soundtrack. The film premiered on April 28th, 1982 at the Santa Fé Film Festival. Exactly thirty years later, DOCVILLE is proud to present a must-attend screening of this all-time classic.
