Cinematographer Virginie Surdej has always made both fiction and documentary films. The visually enchanting documentary Transnistra was screened at DOCVILLE last year, and recently she won prizes for her work on fiction films Insyriated, Adam and Nuestras Madres. Surdej teaches a Masterclass about her vision on making genre-transcending film: documentary and fiction are the same art form. Cinematography is not determined by the genre, but by the emotion and atmosphere.
