Jani is a nineteen-year-old drug addict who lives in a depressing small town in Finland. His best friend Joonas, a fellow addict, documents and tells his story. What started out as a YouTube-project turned into a feature film about Jani’s consequent attempts to escape his situation. A non-moralising film by and about drug addicts, intimate, moving and tough as nails. Reindeerspotting (Trainspotting in Santa Land) came out of nowhere to become the most attended documentary in Finnish theatres ever.
