Testerep wins two prizes at CineGlobe (CERN)
Testerep (2024) is part of the first batch of Science Pitch documentaries, a DOCVILLE concept where filmmakers and researchers collaborate to make short documentaries. Testerep has already appeared at 7 festivals and now it has won the jury prize for Best Documentary as well as the audience award at CineGlobe, CERN's scientific film festival.
The film not only took home the Best Documentary prize, it snatched the audience award too. Director Vincent Langouche set to work with the research of VUB researcher Soetkin Vervust.
Testerep was a peninsula just off the Belgian coast until the Middle Ages and was eventually swallowed by the sea. Based on the vanished peninsula, the documentary aims to examine how we as humans view and study the world.
