The phrasing of the poem is a real brain-teaser and the children are faced with the limits of their vocabulary. The parents come to the rescue, but even they don’t have a satisfying answer for every question. Slowly but surely, it dawns on the children that the beauty of poetry can clash with the prose of life, especially when the TV broadcasts an important football match.
