For 40 years, photographer Sebastião Salgado was able to touch hearts with his intriguing pictures of people struggling, of vulnerable refugees, of people at war, starving and desperate. But witnessing so much human misery for yeras on end took its toll. He decided to turn his camera to the beauty in this world: nature. Wim Wenders and Salgado’s son cooperated on this film, which is visually stunning as well as touching and inspirational. The Salt of the Earth won the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
