FOREVER reveals the mysterious beauty, serenity and comforting effects of the extraordinary Parisian cemetery Père-Lachaise, as seen through the eyes of people of flesh and blood. Many of them go there for their ‘own’ dead: husband, wife, father or son. Other visitors leave a letter behind for ‘their beloved artist’, carve words into a stone or place a flower. Some admirers talk about the significance of art and beauty to their lives. Gradually, it becomes visible and tangible that the graveyard is not only a final resting place for the dead, but particularly a place where the living can find peace and even inspiration.
