Exploring Borders
In 2003 wrtier Annelies Verbeke broke trough with her debut novel Sleep!, a nightly journey trough Gent in the tracks of two sleepless. In Wearwolves, Dimitri Van Zeebroeck finds out how autobiographic the book is. He follows Annelies on literary tours in Flanders and the Netherlands. “ At night I often feel like I am trapped in my own freedom”, says Verbeke. “Maybe more people feel that way and that’s why there is a lot of drinking going on at night. I can be afraid of the recklessness of the night, but I know that I’ve loved it and always will love it.”
