Budhia Singh is a young boy from the Indian slums with an exceptional skill: running. A local judo coach notices him and helps him develop this talent. Aged three, Budhia is running half marathons and has become a national phenomenon. When his biological mother appears on the scene, assisted by the dodgy slum maffia, however, the mood darkens. What starts out as a Slumdog Millionaire fairytale turns into a Dickensian tragedy.
