In Bal of beest? we dive into the world of Lars, a ten-year-old boy who explores his identity through a diverse set of hobbies. Lars loves to play soccer but has another unique hobby: dog shows. The film immerses the viewer in Lars' world: from the soccer field where friendship and competition are at the core, to the dog training school where he feels safe alongside his family and his loyal poodle "Noortje". The training, shows and school all together quickly become too much. Lars is unsure: ball or beast?
