Olga Lucovnicova won a string of prestigious awards in 2021 for her short documentary Nanu Tudor: not only did she win the Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlin International Film Festival, but the European Film Award for Best Short Film as well. In her first feature-length documentary, she travels with her father to Russia, to the village where her grandmother once lived. They try to get a grip on the old Russian soul that shines through in the letters of her deceased grandmother, a soul that is deeply marked by intergenerational trauma.
